Knit Striped Dog Sweater Pattern
Knit a striped dog sweater for a small dog from two or three colors of DK weight yarn, then finish it with simple crochet stitches.
Finished size of sweater is 16" around the chest unstretched, 20" stretched. Sweater conforms to the dog's shape because of the nature of the rib stitch used. Two stripe patterns are provided: one for 3 colors of yarn and the other for 2 colors of yarn. Sweater can also be knit with just one color of yarn.
Sweater is knit flat in an allover k3,p1 rib stitch with a k1,p1 ribbed collar. Sweater has two holes for the front legs, then crocheted together along the chest. A single crochet border is added to finish the front leg openings and also the outside edge.
Supplies:
300 yds of DK weight yarn
knitting needles US 5 (3.75mm)
crochet hook US F (3.75mm)
2 stitch holders
yarn needle for weaving tails.
