My First Sweater in Breeze Knit Pattern
Full color pattern to knit a simple t-shirt style sweater in stretchy Heirloom Breeze yarn with choice of crew neck or V-neck and choice of short or 3/4 length sleeves.
Heirloom Breeze is a unique worsted weight yarn that combines cotton, wool, and lycra for a soft, cool, comfortable knitted fabric that is easy to knit, easy to wear, and easy care too!
This pattern is designed for the knitter ready to knit her first sweater, or for more experienced knitters who are looking for a fashionable figure-flattering classic design that is easy to knit, easy to assemble, easy to wear, and easy care.
This pattern is designed specifically to take advantage of the very stretchy nature of Heirloom Breeze yarn. Substituting other types of worsted weight yarn such as cotton or wool may not yield the desired fit.
Skill Building: This is a great project to learn to knit your first sweater. Borders are in garter stitch; body is in stockinette stitch. Knit flat in 4 pieces: front, back, and 2 sleeves. Simple shaping of sleeves and neckline with k2tog and SSK decreases. Learn to sew vertical straight seams (side and underarm), slanted seams (shoulders), and curved seams (set-in sleeves). Learn to pick up and knit the proper number of sts around the neck with a circular needle, and bind off loosely to retain stretch.
Great pattern for beginners!
