Learn to Knit Socks Pattern

Full color pattern to knit a pair of seamless child-sized socks from cuff to heel with 4 US size 4 double pointed needles and knitting worsted weight yarn.

Socks pictured at left were knit with hand-dyed 100% wool yarn (recycled from a fisherman's sweater found at a thrift store) and donated to Children in Common (CIC), an organization that delivers handmade clothing and toys to orphans in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.

Information on how to donate socks to CIC is included.

Skill Building: Top down socks, knitting in the round on 4 double pointed needles, k2tog and SSK decreases, short rows, slip stitch heel, picking up stitches, Kitchener stitch.

Full color photos and graphics including those pictured are included in the pattern.

Sock pictured below left shows the 5 stages of knitting a sock: cuff, heel, gusset, foot, and toe.
