*JOIN NOW* MOM Club!
Introducing the Motif of the Month Club!
Join us through the spring and summer for our new bi-weekly club for knitters and crocheters. Join the club and come to any of the sessions throughout the month. There will be 7 sessions in June: 1 Wednesday afternoon, 4 Thursday evenings, and 2 Saturday mornings.
In each session, new knit and crochet motif patterns will be provided. You will start knitting or crocheting one or more motifs in class and finish them on your own. Tips and patterns will be provided for assembling your motifs into bags, pillows, afghans, scarves, shawls, ponchos, etc. Information on what's new at the shop will also be provided. Members will have the opportunity to buy selected merchandise at a discount from time to time.
Jewel City Knitters (JCK): Members of our guild please note that MOM Club! is scheduled from 4-5pm on the first Wednesday of the month. Afterwards, we'll go to dinner in Montrose, then attend the JCK Meeting from 7-9pm. For more info about JCK, please visit www.evelynarts.com/jck.
Fees: MOM Club! costs $25 to join and only $5 per one-hour session.
Prerequisites: You must know the basics of knitting (cast on, knit and purl stitches, cast off) or crochet (chain, single and double crochet, slip stitch).
Supplies: Smooth knitting worsted weight yarn in one or more colors. Leftover yarn from other projects is great for this. Knitting needles US size 8 or 9. Crochet hook US size G or H.

What would all of you MOM Club! Members like to do in August?
How about Knit and Crochet Centerpieces?
Here's a sample of a filet crochet centerpiece I made 27 years ago from a charted pattern, using size 10 crochet cotton with a US size 5 steel crochet hook.
This rust colored oval shaped centerpiece with a scallop shaped border measures approximately 30" wide x 24" high. It was machine stitched to a black velvet backing fabric, then stretched and stapled to a rectangular wooden frame.
This piece, titled Rust Floral Centerpiece, won a blue ribbon at the LA County Fair in 2000 in the Filet Crochet Lace category.
