Re: Welcome to the Evelynarts Forum!

Love your new web design. It's very easy to navigate, the colors are very pretty, and it's very polished looking. What are you knitting these days??? Socks I hope. Judy

Re: Welcome to the Evelynarts Forum!

Judy--Of course I'm knitting socks! You really got me addicted.

My latest project is a pair of red hot chili pepper colored socks knit with that wool you hand-dyed. They'll look similar to these melon colored socks I made last year.

They'll be donated to Children in Common to send to orphans in Russia...

Re: Welcome to the Evelynarts Forum!

Hello Evelyn, Hello Judy! I love the new website. I was also wondering if Evelyn can teach a class on the spider web poncho (Circa 1975) that is pictured on the website.
Thanks, Janice :)

Re: Spiderweb Shawl

Janice,
I'd love to teach a class on the Spiderweb Shawl (front pictured on the Home Page and back pictured below). First, I have to find the pattern.

This shawl is crocheted in a triangular shape starting from the point at the bottom back and worked upwards (back and forth). I think the pattern is in a book or magazine from the early 1970's, and its somewhere in my stash. I'll let you know when I find it...

Re: Welcome to the Evelynarts Forum!

HI Evelyn,

Just checking out your site, it's very nice, love the photos and graphics. You are mulitalented.

Considering I seem to be brain dead and all thumbs when it comes to crochet, do you think I could manage the Spiderweb shawl? It's beautiful.

Re: Welcome to the Evelynarts Forum!

Barbara,

Stop that--you're one of my best students!

Yes, you should definitely try this pattern. I think it's in a needlework magazine from the 1970's. I'll let you know when I find it, or a new pattern that's similar.

I plan to teach a Spiderweb Shawl class later this summer or in the fall, so stay tuned.

Here's a photo of the front of the shawl...

Re: Welcome to the Evelynarts Forum!

Wanted to tell people(so that I will get it done!)that since people are getting so GOOD at socks I'm going to put together some new CIC patterns for Toe-Up socks and Short Row Heels. I'll plan on getting them out at a Jewel City Knitters meeting, hopefully in Aug. See ya' soon. Judy

Re: Welcome to the Evelynarts Forum!

Congratulations on finishing your "Learn to Knit Socks" pattern! Look for it where ALL the chic knitters shop....that would be Needle in a Haystack and Stitch Cafe. Judy
