Do you wish to learn to knit? In this class, you will learn the basics of knitting, or refresh your knitting skills, in 2 two-hour sessions. You will knit your first scarf while practicing basic knitting skills: cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, and bind off. Evelyn will teach you how to read knitting patterns and how to choose patterns and yarns for your projects.

Supplies: Purchase supplies during class or bring your own: knitting worsted weight yarn (i.e. Plymouth Encore, solid color, medium or light tone), 14" long straight knitting needles (US size 9), crochet hook (US size G, H, or I) and tapestry needle (size 16). Evelyn will provide several simple scarf patterns, and will help you choose your project and supplies to suit your individual tastes.
